Hey all, I haven't blog much the last week and the i've got 1 word and 3 numbers as to why i haven't been blogging much - XBOX 360!!!

I have borrowed my brothers xbox, hooked it up to the internet and have been lost for the last 3 days running about shooting the hell outta Americans, English, Scottish, Itallian and French people on Gears of War.

I signed back into poker.com tonight and found $50 refer a friend bonus so i'm having a little break from the xbox tonight and i'll have a small game of poker. $11 buy in for $1500 gtd prizepool, rebuys and addon. I'll give this a bash tonight and see how it goes cause the 1K gtd was rebuy madness so i guess with the increase in prizepool the rebuys will possibly get even madder. I dont plan on rebuying and i'll see if i can make it to the break before deciding if i need the add on.

Poker Update

Last night i played the $10 NL tournament and managed to finish 8 and get $20 for my efforts. Its not much but profit is always good :-) Whilst playing the $10 NL game i decided to play on the real money tables as well.

All the Yellowstone tables were full and the waiting lists were all 3 or higher. I pulled up a seat at an empty table and waited till i got some company. Didnt take long and about 10 hands in i had lost my entire buy in to this donkey calling all in on a flush draw and hitting it. I instantly rebought for the table maximum ($25) intent on getting my money back off this numpty.

The table filled up quickly and now it was a game of patience and waiting for the right hand at the right moment. I waited and waited, picking up a few pots here and there and finally i decided enough was enough, the BB was about to land on me so i started running my bath. Just before the BB hit me i thought ' bugger it, i'll get another round in before my baths ready'

Aint i glad i decided to wait, A A dealt to me in the SB. UTG raises 4x BB and the guy i was waiting to bust all game called the $1 and all folded round to me. I reraised to $5, a little heavy but i wanted the cash in the pot NOW. UTG initial raiser called and the guy i wanted to bust folded - dang - oh well next time. The flop came 10 J 2 with 2 clubs on board and me holding A clubs. I decided to move all in to deter my opponent from flush chasing, he call the $22 and flipped over K K. The turn was a blank another curly, giving me more cards to hit and one less for him, he was drawing to the last K in the deck as he didnt have the K clubs and if the K clubs appeared on the board he woulda had trips and i woulda had the nut flush. The river was a blank and i scooped the pot, over $58.

This more than made up for my earlier losses. I left the table at the end of that round happy i was up but a little sad at the fact i didnt get to bust out the numbnuts. I did check the table again about 30 minutes later and noticed that numbnuts was sitting with $1 so he had probably donked it all off with a missed draw of some sort. HAHAHAHA

New Bond Film Out 2moro

Tomorrow sees the release of the eagerly awaited James Bond film, Casino Royale. The 21st Bond movie to be made and the lads over at Zoo Magazine have given us 17 interesting facts about this movie.

Casino Royale is the first Bond film to feature scenes shot in the rain.
Daniel Craig is the first Bond actor to be younger than the franchise itself. He was born on March 2nd 1968, while the first Bond, Dr. No, was released in 1962.
If you recognise Tsai Chin, who plays Madame Wu in Casino Royale, thats because she played Ling in 1967s You Only Live Twice.
A 1954 TV adaption of Ian Flemmings Casino Royale novel featured the first on screen appearance of Bond. It was also shot as a 1967 Bond spoof starring David Niven and Woody Allen as 007.
The film covers the start of Bonds career and begins with black and white footage of Bond earning his double-0 (each 0 marking an assasination) by killing an MI6 agent and his contact for selling secrets.
Over £2million worth of cars - including Maseratis, Ferraris and Jags -were in the car park during the scenes shot at the fictionsal Hotel Splendide Montenegro.
Caterina Murino - who plays the wife of villain Alex Dimitrios - came fourth in the 1996 Miss Italy contest, has advertised Nescafe coffee and was once the WAG of an Itallian footballer - whom she refuses to name.
Sean Connery was reportedly considered for the job of directing this Bond movie.
Casino Royale was also the name of the casino where Pierce Brosnan's 007 gambles during Tomorrow Never Dies.
Richard Branson makes a brief cameo as himself.
The extensive stunt scenes helped push production costs to an estimated £72million.
The Ford Mondeo that Bond drives at the start if the film is a hand built prototype. Actual production of the car will not begin until spring 2007.
Daniel Craig suffers from vertigo and the scenes that feature Bond Jumping from 150ft cranes took 8 weeks to film.
In 2004, Quentin Tarantino pleaded with Bond producers EON to let him do an adaption of Casino Royale, starring Pierce as Bond and Uma Thurman as Vesper Lynd. Tarantino claims he lost interest when it was revealed that Brosnan would no longer be playing Bond.
The Casino Royale novel includes the recipe for Bonds legendary vodka martini : ' 3 measures of Gordons, 1 of vodka, half measure of Kina Lillet(vermouth). Shake it very well until its ice coldm then add a large thin slice of lemon.
The Aston Martin DB5, a version of which Bond drives in Casino Royal, set the slowest ever time in Top Gears power laps segment.
The crane scenes were filmed on anabandoned hotel site that, when under construction was used as a location for 1965s Thunderball.

With the new games at Poker.com painfully close, Skinski was rather sad that he couldn't make it a 6 handed 5 card draw tourney. (Next season for sure!) So instead it will be a shorthanded 6 seat Texas Holdem Tournament, all the regular structure, just short handed. In the last event we thought the numbers would be hurt by the switch to Omaha, but 97 players showed up to duel it out in what turned out to be a fantastic event.

Its the business end of the season now, and every point is starting to really count. So to try and claw your way into that top 20, to to secure you place there make sure you keep the fields growing. As I always say register for the next event, get your friends to register, get strangers to register, just get as many people you can to take part, then when you win you will earn maximum points and we might see you in final, battling it out for the guaranteed prizes including that Aussie Millions entry. Then you can join me and the Queen of hearts in beautiful Melbourne Australia in January.

Good Times

I've been waiting for the last 5 days on a bank transfer so i could fund my poker account. It normally takes 3 days but weekends dont count so i had to wait a little longer and i now know if i'm gonna use a bank transfer again to get it done on a monday morning.

I redeposited $40 on poker.com and used the reload code NOVRELOAD06 and this got me %50 extra on my deposit and a free $11 coupon which can be used in any $11 satellite tournament. I think i will use it for one of the 6 seater $11 which gives the winner a $60 satellite coupon. If i manage to get a $60 coupon i will be using it to enter the 20K tournament on a sunday at poker.com

Once i redeposited i decided to hit the ring games and taken a seat at 'Yellowstone' 10c/25c NL. I've been sitting at the table for almost 2 hours now and i'm up about $45, i sat with $15 and i'm almost at $60. A couple of key hands for me was 7 7 with 5 to the flop and me turning a full house, pot ended up $18. 10 10 on a rag flop all the way to the river with a calling station holding a str8 draw and missing, this pot made it to £30. K Q vs A A and the river gave me another K for trips (lucky hand)

I'm still at the table with $58 and think i will stay for another 30 mins or as and see how we can do. If i honest, i could leave the table with anything over $45 and i will still be happy.

After one false start and a reschedule of event 3 we finally got under way 1 week later than originally planned. My A J suited ran into the SB maniac who went all in holding a 10 4 off, hit his 10 on the flop and no help for me on the turn or river.

Event 4 - Nov 4th 2006 - Irongirl's Omaha a Go-Go

Event 4 saw the hostess Irongirl going for some host advantage and choosing her favorite game, omaha 8 handed. 97 players signed up for this event and with omaha not some peoples forte it didn't seem to matter. I started strong pushing myself into the top 3 after about 30 mins of play. My whole game collapsed when my flopped nuts str8 was called all the way to the river with someone holding 2 pair and seen them rivering a full house. One of the best stories of the day, 2 new sign ups, Stevenslb159 & thepurdle, both made the final table in their Blogger Poker Tour debut. They finished in 7th & 10th place respectively, a great leg-up to a possible top 20 place, despite their late start. It shows acheiving the top 20 can be done even with a late start.

The Blogger Poker Tour is a series of tournaments hosted by bloggers, for bloggers, with the top prize being a $12,500 Aussie Millions package.

In this season of the Blogger Poker Tour, Poker.com will be the venue for a series of 7 preliminary $500 freeroll tournaments, each one hosted by a different blog & blogger(s).
This year to earn your place in the BPT Grand Final, and take your shot at over $25,000 in prizes, you will need to make it to the top of the BPT Leader board.
BPT Leader board points are awarded as the reverse of the field, so if 100 players enter a tournament, the first player out will be awarded 1 point, and the winner will be awarded 100 points. As a bonus those players that make the final table will have their points for that round multiplied.

1st - 300%
2nd - 250%
3rd - 225%
4th - 200%
5th - 175%
6th - 150%
7th - 150%
8th - 150%
9th - 150%
10th - 150%

So the player that finishes first in a field of 100 will end up with 300 BPT Leader board points.
As a bonus for hosting a round, the host will receive the same points as the winner of that round, so the more players in the tournament you host means the more points you earn.
There is also a bonus of 20 points for every player you refer to the Blogger Poker Tour.
At the end of the season, the top 20 on the BPT Leader board will take their place in the BPT Grand Final and share in over $25,000 in prizes.

Moved to a new home

I decided to move my blog onto blogger.com from myspace to get a feel for this place. I am fairly new to the blogging world and get confused easily. I will be posting very soon about the Blogger Poker Tour and telling all you other bloggers out there who enjoy poker how to get involved in it.

Tonight is event number 4 of the blogger poker tour. After playing 2 events and making the final table on both occassions i find myself sitting in 7th place overal. With only 2 events left after tonights game i'm sitting in a good position to make the final 20 and go onto play for the 12500 package to aussie :-)

After event number 2 (my 1st event) i thought i was sitting in 10th place overal but Shane (blogger poker tour boss) has been in touch and told me there was a miscalculation and i had received double points :( Not to worry tho, after my 3rd place in event 3 its done me the world of good. Event 4 is hosted by irongirl and she has decided to add a little spice to the BPT and decided that event 4 will be a game of omaha :) Omaha requires more concentration than holdem and reading the board properly is probably the key aspect to this game. I tend to do not so bad in omaha having won the $2 and $3 omaha tournaments on poker.com

I'll post later on with an update and how things went in the BPT. Right now the $50 freeroll is about to start and seeing as mu funds are non existent i'm back to freerolling to try and make myself a small roll to get me going again.

Last night was the rescheduled event of the Blogger Poker Tour. There was 101 entries and some very serious poker players. I battled it out for over 2hours 30 mins and managed to finish 3rd and collect a nice $75 for $0 entry fee. Cant get better than that.

Whilst playing the BPT i decided to play some ring games, all the 10c/25c games were full so i opted for a game of omaha. 1st hand dealt to me and i hit a Royal Flush :-) Not only did i scoop a nice pot but i win $25 from poker.com for there royal flush bonus, 100x the BB on any real money table.

I sat at the omaha game for about 4 hours and managed to leave with $45 profit :-)

I also got myself my 1st accolade at poker.com for last nights showing in the BPT. The other 2 guys when we were down to 3 already had a BPT winner acolade so i'm assuming i got mine because these 2 already had it.

The 50,000 freeroll has just started on poker.com and then in 2 hours time its the 15K gtd which is $60 buy in. I have a coupon to get me entry to this and i have decided to 'stake' a friend in it as well. Any money he wins in the 15K we are sharing 60/40 with the 60 going to him as he is doing all the work. I know he is a good player and when he is in the zone he is a great player.

I will post another blog on my progress in the 50K and then the 15K later.

Last night i entered the 1K gtd with rebuys and addon. I done a rebuy or 2 and didnt finish anywhere near the money. Guess my luck wasnt in for that game.

I played the $10NL at 9pm and after 2hours play i managed to finish 1st. I will admit i got very lucky on one hand which turned my entire game around. We were down to about 8 left and i was dealt K 10 suited in the BB, it was folded all round to the button who put in a minimum raise. Myself and the SB called, flop was K rag rag rainbow. I put in about 2/3 pot size bet, the button reraised and the SB went all in which had myself and the guy on the button covered.

I pondered for what seemed like a good minute and decided to call and actually put the SB on a hand like A rag and had hit middle pair. The dealer folded and the BB flips over A A. GREAT i thought, river was a 10 giving me 2 pair and leaving the BB a little on the pissed off side.

This hand turned my game around and before i knew it we were down to heads up. Alot of pots going either way and then on the BB i get A J off and the SB raised, i reraised and he called. Flop was J 8 2 and i checked and the BB went all in. I gladly called and he showed Q 8 and missed the turn and river. Game Over. $150 for 1st :)

Blogger tour event 3 failed to start due to technical difficulties on poker.com The event has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday night.

Its been pretty hectic on the poker front for me since saturday. I finally got off tilt from 2 - 3 weeks ago and i'm now back to playing without anger and frustration.

I deposited $50 onto poker.com on saturday afternoon and played in a $5 NL game with $100 added to the rpize pool. There was 47 players and i managed to get 2nd for a nice $82

I've also been playing the ring games building up my comp points to clear my reload bonus. Because i deposited 50 poker.com matches that 100% only problem is i need 2500 comp points for each 10 of the bonus. So far i need another 300 to clear off my 1st 10 bux :-)

Ring games have been good to me over the last few days and every time i have played since saturday i have left the table either even or in profit.

Monday night saw me play the $10 buy in $1000 gtd tournament on poker.com and after almost 3 hours play i walked away with 1st outta 67 players and a prize of almost $400.

Last night i decided to play the 5 bux satellite tournament for 60 bux coupons. I managed to finish 1st and get my 60 bux coupon. The coupon can be used to enter another satellite to try and win a 275 bux coupon for a main event qualifier final or i can use it for entry into the Sunday 15K gtd on poker.com

I think i will be using it for the latter as i watched the 1st ever 15K the previous sunday and 1st prize was a massive 4500. Now theres some great EV

Another update

Hardly been playing any poker the last few days, kida been taking it easy. I have been playing some freerolls, havent cashed in any of them yet and i have also started playing more at www.pkr.com the 3d poker site and one of the nicest on the eyes. A little slow at times but the graphics make up for that.

I played the $1 NL turbo on poker.com last night and managed to finish 4th out of 200 players. It paid out almost $15 and put my bankroll up a little. After my disastrous few weeks i now have to take it easy and limit the amount of poker i play.

Tomorrow is poker night at the local pool hall and i'm deffo going down to check it out so i will keep you all updated once i return from that tomorrow night.

Withdrawl Succesful

I finally managed to successfully withdraw my money from poker.com and now i'm waiting on it going from neteller to my bank account. I have decided to use the winnings as my 'live' roll and use it to enter local games and hopefully one day a trip to the casino.

The local pool bar runs games every Tues and Sun, Tues is £10 buy in and Sun is £25. I will go down one tuesday and have a game and check it out. I had planned on playing ages ago but discovered membership was required and that it cost £25.

I dont even play pool or snooker so my membership would only have been used for playing poker. Luckily for me a guy at work was able to get me a years membership for nothing as he knows the guy who owns it. Saved me £25 which will now be used one tuesday on a game of poker and a few pints :-)

It would seem my bad run is finally coming to a halt after producing a 4th place finish in last nights $10 NL tournament on poker.com I know i said i was giving up on poker.com but most of the other sites i have tried have failed drastically compared to poker.com Last nights $10 NL had 66 players and paid out top 10 so i was glad to make the final table and then make top 5 as top 5 guarenteed at least $50 :-) 4th place was $60odd so a good nights work.

Well i finally got my finger out my ass and set up a neteller account and i am now awaiting my deposit to go through from poker.com

I left myself a little amount on the site so i'll see if i can any thing decent with it. I decided this week to deposit on William Hill Poker. I made a small deposit and played a few MTT's on the site and decided its a decent enough site with decent payouts so i will be making another small deposit soon and playing on there for a bit.

Interesting game i played on WH was Holdem Blackjack and its exactly as it sounds. Blackjack vs multiple opponents and no house in site to take your cash. Its similar to texas holdem with antes, blinds and set limits. Players get one card dealt face down. You decide if you are calling, raising or folding. Best cards to start with are abviously an ace or 10/facer.

Once the players have decided wether they are in or not everyone is dealt a 2nd card, this time, face up. Everyone can see your 2nd card. There is another round of betting here, bets are fixed here as well. Next stage is hitting or sticking/standing. Another round of betting follows and the winner is 21 or closet to 21.

Very interesting game to play and for my 1st time playing i finished 17th out of 70odd, just 5 places short of the money :-(

Well i aint had too good a week on poker.com I get my money in with the best hand and usually get sucked out on and lose a large pot :-(

So far my roll has taken a hit of almost 600 and its not a good feeling lol

I have decided that i'm going to cash out and move to a different poker site and see if my luck can change that way cause i have started noticing some strange things over on .com.

I've picked up J J about 8 or 9 times in the last week. 6 times out of those 9 the guy 2 seats to my left had K K everytime, once it was Q Q and the other 1 or 2 they held up. What i find suss is the fact that the J J and K K have come out in very similar positions and seats etc....

Also playing the league game last week and i had 6 6 from early postion, i limped and a few other behind me limped, one guy raised 2x the bb which i called. As i called the small raise the guy sitting to my right asked me 'is it 6 6 you got' How on Gods green earth can he say i got 6 6 by limping and then smooth calling a small raise??? I found it suss again.

I will continue to play on .com but only in the bloggertour, freerolls and such. I have had it with all the donkey players who have seen a bit of poker on the tv and think thats the way to play and play like a donkey!!!

I'm gonna move on to william hill poker as they have 3 MTT's every 15 mins and a £10,000 guarenteed tournament thats only £3.20 to buy in. Compare that with .coms $10,000 gtd which is $55 buy in. In english money its about £5000gtd and almost £30 to buy in. You do the math.

I played well and my cards held up. I didnt rebuy and i dint use the add on. Went into the 1st break and i was chip leader so a nice 1st hour played :-)

Eventually got to final table and my J J vs A 9 all in preflop brought an A A ? flop and no J for me. This left me short and my very next hand was 7 7 either on the button or in the SB. Everyone folded and i went all, it was a extra 3500 for the BB to call and she called with A 9 off and hit 9 9 8 8 for the full boat :-(

Out in 6th and 65 bux for my troubles. I'm registered for the 500gtd short handed game that starts in 5 minutes. Short handed aint my fav but i'll give it a go.
